Project:
Located in the north of the Loire department, in the green countryside of Forez, the municipality of Regny has a very typical local heritage. Among the maze of streets, you will also find “riotons”, small pedestrian streets. As part of Agenda 21, the municipality is developing projects to renovate them.
With the support of the town’s inhabitants, you will work collectively on this site while enjoying the charming natural surroundings suitable for walks.

Work:
You will work on the renovation of a stone wall along a rioton: you will have to clean the joints and apply a new coating!
In parallel, small masonry work is to be expected, some unstable stones are threatening to fall and have to be replace inside the wall in order to insure the inhabitants’ safety along the rioton.

Location and leisure activities:
Located only one hour away from Lyon and Saint Etienne, 25 minutes from Roanne, the municipality of Regny (1200 inhabitants), served by train, is the perfect place for getting to know our region. The Mont of Forez and its verdant nature make it an ideal spot for outdoor activities (hiking, cycling, and swimming at “Lac des Sapins”, picnic ...). The Auvergne and its volcanoes are also very close. It is a village full of history and the inhabitants will gladly share it with you!

Accommodation and food:
You will be accommodated in tents on a sport field in the center of the village, boys and girls separately. Don't forget to bring a warm sleeping bag. The kitchen, toilets, showers and the common living space of the group will be close to the workcamp. You will be able to find shelter there in case of bad weather. The volunteers will cook alternately using products purchased nearby. We will promote local and seasonal products as well as short supply chains. Tastings of local specialties can also be made possible with local producers.

Remember to take suitable gloves, working clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. As nights may be chilly, bring a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes. Do not forget to take sun protection as well (hat, sunglasses, cream ...) and your swimsuit. You will work under the supervision of our technical leader who will guarantee the security on the site in collaboration with the municipality. Common leisure activities will be programmed together with the camp leaders and according to your suggestions. You will collectively plan the visits and activities. If you want to share a little of your culture (cooking recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects ...), do not hesitate to take a little bit of your country in your backpack!
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back home.

Project : Help in the conservation of the local heritage and meet the population by participating in the development of the garden and the organization of the festival!
Adissan is a typical and charming village of the south of France, surrounded by a beautiful nature. In the middle of vineyards, the place is famous thanks to a specific white wine called « Clairette ».The town has thrive for centuries through this business activity and it still attracts a lot of visitor nowadays.
In Adissan, keep your eyes open and you may encounter the ‘foal’, a big and legendary animal, half-camel, half-horse, that mysteriously appears and disappears for centuries!

Work : You will take part in various development works on a garden at the entrance of the village and will continue masonry work on a stone wall near the village that was started during a previous workcamp. You will take part in the organisation of the local festival of Clairette, on July 14th.

ADISSAN

Meeting point : In Pezenas, that you can reach from Beziers or Montpellier (line 103/104 Herault Transport).

Closest airport : Montpellier, Marseille or Paris.

You will be accommodated in the former retirement’s house. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the preparation of dishes with good products from the market and local producers

For the work, please bring gardening gloves, working clothes and closed shoes.
As the night can be quite cold, remember also to bring warm clothes and a sleeping bag.
Don’t forget your protections against the sun (hat, glasses, sunscreen) and your swim suit!

Some shared times could be organized if you want, so please feel free to bring some cultural material in your bag (food, recipes, stories or dances)!

Leisure : Located in the department of Herault, in the new region Occitanie and his strong cultural heritage, the city of Adissan is the perfect location to enjoy the lake of Salagou (25km) and the beaches of the Mediterranean coast (30km); to organize hikes or discover the cities of Beziers (35km) and Montpellier (50km); to enjoy the beautiful biodiversity around the Basin of Thau (30km) and Sete the famous city of Georges Brassens; nearby you can also discover the great architectural heritage of Pezenas (10km).
