Located in the heart of the Savoyard Alps, Aillon-le-Jeune is a veritable mountain treasure. Standing at an altitude of 1000 metres, this former Alpine ski resort offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Just thirty minutes from Chambery and less than an hour from Annecy, it s an ideal destination for lovers of nature, tranquillity and mountain walks. It s an unspoilt place where you can disconnect from the world... and take a deep breath of fresh air. A playground for lovers of outdoor activities and wild escapes.

Description of work:

The commune of Aillon-le-Jeune offers a discreet but remarkable heritage, including the Chapelle de la Correrie and a cemetery cross dating back to the 13th century. Unfortunately, this precious heritage today suffers from a lack of emphasis: the surrounding wall that protects them is in ruins. Your mission: to bring it back to life and preserve this place full of history To do this, you ll work five hours a day, every morning from Monday to Friday. The afternoons will be devoted to group activities.The work to be carried outThe wall extends over 65 metres, but the work will concentrate on the first 15 metres, which are the most fragile and pose a direct threat to neighbouring tombs. Supervised by specialists - including a former wall-climber - you will learn step-by-step the traditional techniques of dry stone masonry. From dismantling the wall to selecting the stones and levelling the ground, each step will immerse you in the rigour and beauty of this age-old technique. You ll then take part in the painstaking reconstruction of the wall, stone by stone, right up to the final fitting of the coverings... ;It s a great opportunity to combine learning, heritage and practical action in the service of the region, all in a relaxed, intercultural atmosphere

Apart from work, there s plenty of time for relaxation, discovery and group life Here s an overview of what s in store for you during your stay Hikes and walks in the magnificent landscapes of the Bauges massif. Immerse yourself in the heart of nature, between forests, ridges and secret trails: a chance to observe the local wildlife and take a deep breath. Access to the municipal swimming pool to cool off and have fun among volunteers. There s also the chance to explore the surrounding rivers, for a swim...or just to discover nature Visit educational farms, meet local producers and discover Savoyard specialities (cheese is king here). Visit the surrounding towns: Chambery and especially Annecy, renowned for their cultural heritage, charming little streets, markets, lakes and summer atmosphere. You can also visit Aix-les-Bains and Lake Bourget for a relaxing break between town and nature. Large group games, tournaments, creative or sporting activities (volleyball, badminton, football, etc.), evening entertainment and festive evenings. Meetings with local people, including a friendly welcome drink or an international meal prepared by the volunteers. A wonderful immersion in nature and in a close-knit group, where everyone finds their place and experiences an unforgettable human adventure, in a spirit of solidarity and sharing

Description of accommodation and food:

For the duration of the project, you will be staying in tents at the Aillon campsite, in the heart of an exceptional natural environment. The camping site is fitted with solid sanitary facilities and showers, for basic comfort but welcome after a day of work and activities; A convivial dining area will be set up to share meals, prepared with care by the volunteers, in a warm and collective atmosphere. This simple but authentic form of accommodation allows you to live in harmony with nature while strengthening the cohesion of the group. It s real camp life, in the mountains
