The workcamp contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by protecting cultural heritage, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by supporting remembrance, tolerance, and respect for cultural diversity.
Description of work:
The work takes place mainly at the Jewish cemetery in Holešov and partly at the synagogue in Šachov. Volunteers will help with landscaping and regular cemetery maintenance, including grave care, cleaning paths, weeding, removing overgrown vegetation, raking grass, and general upkeep. Volunteers will also assist with technical preparations for the Festival of Jewish Culture, such as moving, setting up, and dismantling event equipment at different locations in town. The work can be moderately physically demanding and takes place in all weather conditions; in case of severe rain, tasks may move indoors. Tools and protective equipment are provided. The workplace is about a 5-minute walk from the accommodation (about 400 m).

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
The local Legambiente Valle Camonica chapter has been active since the 1980s and has already organized several international workcamps. It promotes initiatives on various issues, such as the protection of rivers, land use management, landscape conservation, and environmental care. Over the past three years, it has carried out numerous educational projects on environmental sustainability, both in primary and secondary schools.
Description of work:
The core activity involves observing and capturing, during the hikes, the landscapes, natural features, human traces, and cultural elements, along with the emotions and sensations they inspire. Participants will translate these experiences into written reflections and photographic or video documentation, which will then be woven together into a summary that will serve as a source of inspiration for territorial animation projects.
At three different alpine pastures, participants will have the opportunity to engage with the work of local shepherds, assisting with livestock care, cheesemaking, and the functioning of the facility (e.g., firewood collection). Maintenance work on structures or trails may also be planned.
Area Vasta Valgrigna
Description of location and leisure:
The camp’s logistical base will be the Malga Silter refuge in Campolungo, situated at 1,490 meters, reachable on foot in about an hour and a half from Campolaro (Bienno, BS), where participants will be transported by car.

The General Directorate of Youth (www.xuventude.xunta.es) is a department of the Xunta de Galicia (www.xunta.gal) whose priority is to meet the needs and concerns of the young population living in Galicia, firmly believing that youth has much to contribute to society as a whole.
We work to improve the quality of life of young people in our autonomous community, developing actions and programs that benefit them, increase their well-being and allow them to improve their skill.
Description of work:
The work will be environmental and will consist of maintenance work on the island, fire surveillance, information work and visitor awareness, and specific interventions to improve the park in collaboration with the environmental service workers. Cleaning of the South Island (the only island not communicated by passenger boat). (This activity depends on the park, it cannot be carried out in all shifts).
National Park "Illas Cíes" (Vigo, Pontevedra)
Description of location and leisure:
This work camp is located on the Illas Cíes, specifically on the Island of Monteagudo (north) at the mouth of the Ría de Vigo, in the municipality of Vigo (Pontevedra).
The Cíes Islands form part, together with the Cortegada, Sálvora and Ons archipelagos, of the Galician Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park.
The ecological value of its marine environment is incalculable since within its waters some of the most representative examples of Atlantic marine ecosystems are preserved, which treasure great biological wealth.
The marine environment of the Park is a great mosaic of different habitats that support an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna. There are important communities such as brown algae forests (Saccorhiza polyschides and Laminaria spp.), or those associated with seabeds such as those of Mäerl, and we also find habitats defined as of community or priority interest within the Habitats Directive of the European Union, such as reefs, lagoons or shallow sandbanks permanently covered with seawater.
The terrestrial environment is strongly influenced by the proximity of the ocean, highlighting the dune systems, the cliffs and the gorse or heather thickets.
Also in the emerged part of the islands we find habitats considered to be of community interest or priority by the directives, such as the gray dunes, the aerohaline coastal scrub or the southern Atlantic humid heather scrub.
The main problem for conservation in this environment has been human pressure. Especially in the Cíes Islands, eucalyptus, pine or acacia plantations have displaced the native vegetation in several areas. The eradication of these native species is a very long-term process that is already being worked on and the results of which will be seen gradually.
Actions are currently being carried out to develop adequate management of public use, waste from the islands, navigation and anchoring of boats, fishing, shellfishing, etc.
Sport fishing and underwater fishing are prohibited within the limits of the National Park.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
In the early 1990s, the Verein Jugend- und Schulbauernhof im Gutshof Othal e. V. (Youth and School Farm Association) was founded on an old four-sided farmstead dating from the 18th century. With a great deal of manual labor and effort, the first members of the association repaired dilapidated stables, laid out gardens, and built paddocks.
The school farm is located about an hour's drive west of Leipzig and is surrounded by nature.
The area around the farm can be explored on foot or by bike. The natural environment of our farm and the expert staff from the region offer a variety of opportunities for nature discovery and recreation, such as baking bread, churning butter, harvesting, and processing fruit. There is also a Kita with children aged 3-6 years from the village integrated into the building.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Freissinieres municipality and the Ecrins National Park. The municipality wishes to restore the Viollins mill, a building that is part of the municipality's rural heritage and could also become a shelter for walkers.
The municipality will be responsible for installing the kitchen area, purchasing materials and equipment, preparing the site, applying for building permits, and storing the materials needed to build the framework.
Description of work:
This is a high-altitude project, so please read the description carefully before signing up. You will be asked to provide a motivation letter related to the project before your registration is confirmed!
Help restore an old mill in the village of Freissinieres!
Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the village of Freissinieres is home to an old mill dating back to the XVIII century. You will be contributing to the second restoration project for this mill, located along the Biaysse torrent and on the route taken by many hikers.
Daily routine : Get ready for a 30-minute morning hike from your camp through the forest. You will cross a wooden bridge over the Biaysse torrent and make one last effort to climb the hill before arriving at the site: the Viollins mill.
As work on the site began last year, you will have the opportunity to complete the building by restoring the four surrounding walls. Regular work on scaffolding, using traditional construction techniques. You will, of course, be assisted by professionals.
But the project doesn't stop there! You will also be responsible for retracing the history of the Viollins mill through an artistic project that you will carry out in collaboration with the village residents.
FRESSINIERES
Description of location and leisure:
The municipality and valley of Freissinieres are located in the Hautes-Alpes (05) at the gateway to the Ecrins National Park, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. The Viollins mill construction site is located downstream from the town in the direction of Freissinieres. It is situated on the banks of the Biaysse torrent.
In winter as in summer, this sheltered valley offers a wide variety of activities: exploring the region and its specialties, hiking, outdoor sports, meeting locals and engaging in intercultural exchanges, and more.
Meeting Point and Time: ARGENTIERES-LES-ECRINS train station, accessible by train from the French network “SNCF” and from Marseille Provence Airport. We will pick you up at 6 p.m.
If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.
Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

You will stay in a dedicated area in the heart of the forest where individual tents will be pitched (and provided). Meals will be prepared outdoors. The group will have to build a clay oven for bread, and cooking will be done over a campfire. To keep food cool, a bucket in the river will serve as a refrigerator. You will share various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the facilitators, and you will participate in shopping and meal preparation, with priority on healthy, local products. A recipe booklet will be provided to encourage responsible purchasing and sustainable eating.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Located near Poitiers, the commune of Buxerolles is home to the historic church of Saint-Jacques-et-Saint-Philippe. Originally Romanesque, the building stands on the site of an 11th-century chapel. After centuries of history, this heritage site now requires careful rehabilitation. This workcamp aims to revitalize the building while promoting intercultural exchanges between local residents and international volunteers, united around the values of solidarity and community heritage.
Description of work:
Following three successful years of restoration, this year’s project focuses on the interior walls of the church. Some sections were previously covered with cement, which trapped moisture and caused saltpeter to appear. Guided by a specialized technical supervisor, you will participate in the traditional masonry process: removing old plaster, dehumidifying the walls, and applying traditional lime plaster. The project also includes repointing and lime jointing. You will work approximately 4 to 5 hours per day. No prior experience is required, but please bring work clothes that can get dirty. All safety equipment will be provided.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Taevaskoja Youth Camp is adventurous hiking camp that has been active for over 30 years. The aim of Taevaskoja camp is to support children s development through non-formal education. During the youth camp kids participate in different workshops about health, safety, culture and enjoy climbing and hiking activities. Taevaskoja is located in South-Estonia, about 220 km from Tallinn. The camp site is very close to the one of the most popular natural touristic place - Suur Taevaskoda (The Large Heaven s Hall), surrounded by beautiful forest and close to the one of the longest rivers in Estonia. Such location brings children closer to unspoiled nature and gives them an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Estonian national heritage richly presented in the area. The camp aims also to develop children s knowledges about different cultures and support the growth of tolerance. To do that Taevaskoja Youth Camp invites international volunteers to join the camp as animators. Children come to Taevaskoja camp from all over Estonia. Most of them have basic knowledge of English and are very happy to have a chance to practice it. More information on www.taevaskoja.ee/taevaskoja-noortelaager/ Camp has several periods with different age groups of kids. NB It is possible to join for several camp shifts in a row in July.
Description of work:
Each day of the camp will have a program completed by local coordinators and the volunteers will be helping to realize it. The main activities will be intercultural learning through finding differences and similarities between Estonia and countries, where volunteers come from (history, traditions, language, singing, dancing). It will be done through games, drama, sport, discussions. We expect that volunteers would lead a workshop connected with their culture (traditional dances, songs, games, everyday life, food specialities, etc.) It can be an educational one or as a game to play. Therefore, we look for active volunteers with good knowledge of history and culture of their country and ability to present it. Volunteer will work in partnership with professional local educators and youth workers i 9 staff members. The age of children is from 8 to 18 depending on shift.
