Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

Schwarzerden is a small village with 430 inhabitants and already experienced in welcoming international volunteers. After six successful international IBG workcamps they again invite a group of volunteers to support them to improve the local infrastructure and to enrich the village festival on July 12th to 14th. The previous camps have always been a big fun for the volunteers and the locals.

Description of work:

Enjoy being outdoors! The main task of the project will be to improve the outdoor infrastructure so that even more people enjoy spending their leisure time outdoors and in nature.
• You will be installing benches at various points along the edge of paths or forests - in some places this will first require clearing work and the construction of a foundation, while in other places existing wooden benches or picnic areas will simply be renovated.
• You will renovate a wooden shelter for hikers. This includes woodwork and painting as well as wood and roof maintenance.
• To motivate children in particular to spend their free time outdoors, you will maintain an existing playground in the middle of the forest and add some new play equipment.
• To complete all these small tasks you will also improve the surrounding of your accommodation. This will include landscape gardening and renovation work.
The group of volunteers will be split up in the two different tasks every day. You are also invited to support the local festival team during their village party.

Description of location and leisure:

The workcamp will take place in the small village Schwarzerden, which belongs to the community of Freisen. Freisen is situated in the north of Saarland in a rural area. You can find many interesting places in Freisen: a historical railway, cultural and natural sights, a small zoo, a spa bath (but only few of them in Schwarzerden). The local villagers are already looking forward to getting to know you and to welcoming you at the local village festival. We will do our best to arrange excursions with the support of locals but due to the poot public transport they will for sure be limited. The project is perfect for volunteers who enjoy being outside and in nature.

Description of accommodation and food:

The accommodation provided is the former centre of the sports club of Schwarzerden. It is now in public use for bigger events in this village. All necessary facilities are a hall for sleeping, a kitchen, toilettes, showers… Camping beds are provided but please bring your sleeping bag! If the weather is fine, you have the opportunity to eat and chill outside. Attention: This place is quite isolated; the village of Schwarzerden is 1km away. Next to the accommodation you can find the sports ground, you can use it whenever you want. You will have a beautiful view over the valley; you will be surrounded by forests and meadows. Just make a campfire and enjoy nature.
Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow (if required). Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

Town hall of Prioro
This camp is a part of the project "European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice", co-funded by the Citizens, Equality. Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Commission. "EYA - European Youth in Action" aims at empowering European youth to make their voices heard by the decision makers on climate justice issues, through building of a structured path at European level for the engagement of youth. The project engages young people in expressing their vision on the Europe they want and on climate justice; increase knowledge and awareness on climate justice issues, improve competences in concrete actions for climate justice in three key related issues: energy transition, greenwashing, biodiversity.

Description of work:
Oro de Prioro is an English-teaching workcamp designed to provide local children and teenagers with a fun and engaging language-learning experience outside the traditional classroom setting.
Volunteers will play an active role in co-creating and leading workshops in English for a group of approximately 30 local participants. Together, volunteers will design games, activities, and interactive sessions that encourage children to use and practice English in a natural, playful environment. The goal is to create a space where language learning happens organically—through creativity, play, and meaningful interaction.
This workcamp is not just about language; it's about cross-cultural exchange and building connections. Through workshops, sports, games, outdoor activities, group discussions, and excursions, volunteers will help foster a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere where kids can explore both the English language and other cultures.
While Spanish language skills are a plus, they are not required—enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to connect are what truly matter.
Volunteers will work approximately 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday. In the mornings (around 09:00–13:00), they will spend time directly with the children, facilitating activities. In the afternoons, the team will come together to plan and prepare the next day's sessions collaboratively.an English teaching workcamp. The weekends will be free.

Description of location and leisure:
Prioro is a municipality located in the province of León, Castile and León, Spain. The municipality has a population of 369 inhabitants. Even though the village is very small there is a circulation with the other villages around. It is 86 km to the Léon city.
The characteristics of the terrain have made this area a suitable place to practice hiking and enjoy nature; The source of the Cea River, La Cañada Real Leonesa Oriental, Las Grandes Rutas or GR I, Routes through the different ports such as the port of Mental, the Puerto de la Muela, or the Alto del Puerto del Pando where you can get exceptional views of the Picos de Europa Regional Park.
There are samples of the passage of this civilization through this area. In this way, in Villaescusa (a disappeared town between Morgovejo and Prioro) we find a Roman bridge, through which the Roman road continues passing through the bridge of Las Conjas and ascending to Puerto del Pando.
Also, there are other important places of interest like churches, small hermitages, the horreos -
they are an important part of popular architecture, declared Historical Monuments in 1979, traditional mountain architecture.
The extensive natural, the artistic, ethnographic and industrial heritage of the Montañas de Riaño region is preserved in a wide museum network of incalculable tourist and educational value.
Prioro Ethnographic Museum located behind the Prioro Consistory building has an extensive ethnographic collection where you can see hundreds of traditional pieces donated by neighbors and classified according to their usefulness, the building that houses the newly built museum houses different exhibition spaces.
Also, there are other museums nearby: Riaño Ethnographic Museum Peculiar collection of elements that illustrate the life that was submerged under the waters of the Riaño reservoir, Sabero Steel and Mining Museum, Valdehuesa Wild Fauna Museum.

The closest airport is Oviedo (OVD) Airport. Volunteers have to take a train from Oviedo to León. OVD airport is not well connected. There is also options to arrive to Madrid Barajas Airport and take a train or bus to León or arrive to Bilbao airport and again take a bus to Léon.

Adatepe Women’s Cooperative is a social enterprise founded by women living in the village of Fındık in the Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş province. The cooperative, founded in 2024, aims to produce food products specific to this region by women living here and convey them to other provinces in Turkey.

Description of work:

In the first days of the camp, volunteers will carry out renovation work (painting wall, cleaning building) in activity area for the community. Additionally they will actively participate in harvesting vegetables and cleaning agricultural and water resource areas. Volunteers will support to women in the production of traditional food products.

Description of location and leisure:

The camp will be held in Kahramanmaraş (city), Göksun (district), Fındık (village). Local trips will be organized as a leisure activity. Events will be organized to bring together the municipality and other institutions.

This will be the 16th time that the community of Lauterbach and the local Landscape Development Association host a workcamp. They appreciate the contributions of international volunteers and are very excited to welcome support for different environmental construction tasks in protected natural area! Besides the obvious valuable help from the workcamp group, they are also very happy to share their knowledge about forest preservation to foreign volunteers. By volunteering in this project, you are actively protecting nature and biodiversity (UN SDG 15).

Description of work:

Help the community of Lauterbach in preserving its beautiful forest and wildlife-rich open land! Lauterbach has many nature conservation areas to offer and your support is needed for various tasks. During this workcamp, you will work in the forest and open land, helping the municipality maintain wet meadow; an important habitat for rare species of flora and fauna. This involves removing mown material from the meadow by hand. The municipality is also responsible of the preservation of a hiking trail, so additionally, you may also assist in sanding, cutting or paving paths, renewing steps and painting hiking trail bridges.

Be prepared for hard physical work! Due to working in swampy (boggy) and steep areas, sturdy boots are required for effective work! The work will be led by a professional instructor, so no previous experience is needed. You will work 30 hours per week, between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from
Monday to Friday with a lunchbreak.

As the house is located in a very rural area, the internet access and mobile phone coverage will most probably be limited. Just be prepared to spend two wonderful, adventurous weeks away from your busy and usual life.

With your commitment, you will make an important contribution to the biodiversity and the transformation of former industrial brownfield sites. There are many places in the area south-west of Leipzig where gravel is extracted. This is done in open-cast mining. As soon as a site is exhausted, large desolate-looking holes are left in the landscape. In cooperation with the local nature conservation authorities and the Nellschütz gravel company, we will support the revitalisation of such a gravel pit with this volunteering project. Many people in the region are looking forward to this renaturation and to you. They will support you at work, in your free time, with food etc. and they are looking forward to meeting you.
The site will also be used for environmental education by school classes and kindergartens, so a circular route through the site and an outdoor classroom will be build.

Description of work:

Bring nature back to an old gravel mine! You will support the transformation of an abandoned gravel pit into an ecologically valuable habitat and thus give back to nature what humans have taken from it. The Nellschütz gravel company is creating a habitat with a pond, deadwood, rocks and steep slopes on an area of 4 hectares, providing a new habitat for amphibians, insects and various plants. All these tasks are done in close cooperation with the local authorities for nature protection. The site will also be used for environmental education work with children and young people in the future.
Specific tasks will include the construction of a circular path and a green classroom, the creation of a pond, deadwood areas, etc. You will be digging, straightening, planting, sawing and nailing. There will be a wide variety of work with different levels of difficulty. If necessary, workers from the gravel company will support you with heavy machines. A landscape gardener will provide professional guidance.

Nellschütz is located in the south-west of Leipzig. The nearest larger town is Weißenfels, the meeting point on arrival. Weißenfels is worth a visit, there is a historic old town with various baroque-style buildings, a castle, but also nice shops, bars and cafés... but also many lost places due to the structural change in the region. We will try to offer various excursions. Due to the poor public transport most activities and excursions will be realised with the support of locals. They are already exited in showing you their highlights of the region.

The living conditions will be very basic and sustainable. You will live right next to the gravel pit, about 1km away from the small hamlet of Nellschütz. Specifically, there will be several sleeping tents with camping beds and a pavilion with tables and benches as a common room. Cooking will take place in an improvised outdoor kitchen on an open fire. Instead of a fridge, there will be a dug-out earth cellar. There is a compost toilet and solar showers. Of course there is no wifi. You can also use the showers in the public swimming pool from time to time or swim in the lake. Please bring your sleeping bag.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

Pact Ruthenorum is a local organization dedicated to promotion of Rusyn's culture (ethnic Eastern-Slavic minority in South-Slavic Serbia; more on that nobody knows, that is why this project is important, haha). It is founded in 2004. with the mission to connect people all over the region and even all over the world. With that aim, they organized numerous festivals (mostly musical or traditional with the cultural topics) and workcamps. Its main focuses are music, nature and socializing.

Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.

Description of work:

The main goal of this camp will be that volunteers make the village move, but also that they learn a lot about local cultures (because it is in plural). Some of the tasks will be: renovation of the mural at the bus station, help to make the local Youth center prettier, cleaning the garbage on boats from the canal, painting the kids' playground, make sports' terrains look more representative, watering the trees maybe even with the firetruck, supporting the organizers of the festival "PactON"...

Description of location and leisure:

Ruski Krstur is a village in the Kula municipality in the Sombor department of Vojvodina province. It has 3000 inhabitants approximately and majority of them are Rusyns (less-known Eastern-Slavic minority that we mentioned previously). It lays on the Small Backa canal (very important one for fertile lands all around the village).

Free time will be spent in nature, walking and riding bicycles, swimming in the pool, meeting locals (hosts really care about this part). Also, some excursion to the interesting surroundings might be easily organized!

Try to bring a positive attitude, meeting people from other cultures of this international village is really important to the host.


The nearest airport: BEG in Belgrade (Beograd),Yugoslavia
The nearest terminal (train-, bus-, taxi station): Kula is the nearest town, but Novi Sad and Sombor are the most important centers of the region. From Novi Sad there is a direct bus to the village, but it doesn't go too often daily. All the specific instructions will be in the Infosheet.
Meeting Point and Time: From Belgrade you take the train to Novi Sad and from there you can take the bus to the village. More precise-in its time.

Description of accommodation and food:

Volunteers will be accommodated in the local sports' hall, on the mattresses (bedding will be provided, but if you insist you can bring your own, hehe).

The kitchen will be in the near Fire department (many associations cooperate closely in this interesting village). Food will be provided sometimes (with accent on national cuisine) and sometimes it will be made by volunteers. On few occasions there can be even outdoor preparation.

The Emmaus Community of Quarrata is part of the global Emmaus Movement, which aims to combat poverty and social exclusion through the principles of work, sharing, and mutual aid. Emmaus takes part as well in solidarity actions in Italy and around the world and raise awareness about their values and mission. Our main activities include the collection, reuse, and recycling of used materials, displayed at the Solidarity Flea Market. We also maintain an organic vegetable garden and care for the community s green spaces. Volunteers will spend their days participating in activities and sharing free time with the people hosted by the community.

Description of work:

Volunteers will participate in the classic activities of collecting, sorting, selling, recycling, and repairing materials that characterize Emmaus communities. They will work alongside local volunteers and community members, both in activities and leisure moments. Volunteers will help organize the solidarity flea market, select and place materials for the market, and participate in the organic zero-mileage vegetable garden. Those interested in salvaging and restyling can assist with improvement projects and workshops such as gardening, painting, wood working, tailoring and space recovery. The main focus of the camp is to regenerate and transform in a creative and sustainable way of thinking the community leaving and working spaces.

Volunteers can visit nearby places on their own costs. Florence and other locations such Prato e Pistoia can be reached by public transportation. The community is located in a little hill surrounded by a beatifull landscape typical from Tuscany and the Market is in the Village of Quarrata. Excursions and visits of cultural and natural places are organized by the Community as part of the experience.

This camp is organized with the official permission of the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Istanbul Civilization University - Beçin Castle Excavation Directorate (Prof. Dr. Kadir Pektas). Description of work:

Beçin Castle is an early Ottoman Castle on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Volunteers will be helping the professional excavation team will take part in unearthing the history, and also will be helping the environmental arrangement and cleaning of the site, maintenance, basic repairing work, and landscaping.

Due to the hot weather in the summer months, excavations usually start at early morning and end between 2 pm and 3 pm. There maybe changes in working program hours. The exact program will be available till the summer season. Due to the hot weather, work starts early in the morning and ends in the afternoon. Precautions such as sun-proof awnings are in place.

You are not expected to be experienced in this archaeological study, where you can witness history up close.

Many activities await you in Muğla City, a city with full of touristic, historical and natural beauties. This region, full of ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman heritages that you can visit, is also 45 minutes away from the sea. You can enjoy your free time with the excavation team and volunteers in this region where you can enjoy the sea, sand and sun. Plus, we will have educational workshops for you!

The nearest airport: IST in Istanbul,Turkey
The nearest terminal (train-, bus-, taxi station): Milas-Bodrum Airport is the closest airport. Dalaman Airport may be another option. You can also find transfer flights from Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport (Istanbul). Milas Bus Station (Milas Bus Terminal) is the nearest terminal.
Meeting Point and Time: We can meet with volunteers at Milas Bus Terminal or Milas-Bodrum Airport.

Description of accommodation and food:

Volunteers will stay in the lodging belonging to the excavation directorate. There is air conditioning in the rooms. There is a toilet, bathroom, kitchen and dining hall. Volunteers can watch the stars on the terrace on dark nights. Breakfasts and dinners will be served at the lodge. Lunches will be served at the house in the excavation area. Volunteers will prepare their meals together with the excavation team.

Short remarks for the project:
This area is an official excavation area. Volunteers will participate in this area with the permission of the Ministry of Culture. There may be some precautions and rules for your safety in the excavation area. The historical artifacts that can be found belong to the Republic of Türkiye. Please follow the requirements.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

General objectives:- Improvement of the visiting and safety conditions at Quinta EcolEgica da Moita, a oak forest that has been abandoned for about 6 years;- Valorisation and promotion of natural and cultural heritage (namely, walking trails and green areas);- Promotion of sustainability, environmental awareness, and biodiversity protection;- Promotion of intercultural relationships, good environmental practices, and citizenship;- Promotion of specific skills in the field of cultural and natural heritage protection.Specific objectives: - Maintenance and clearance of walking trails;- Removal of invasive species and prevention of forest fires by controlling shrubs and invasive vegetation;- Maintenance and recovery of a wildlife pond;- Installation of shelters for wildlife

Description of work:

- Restoration and clearance work of some degraded trails and natural heritage;- Vegetation trimming and removal;- Improvement of local fauna, flora, and landscape, including fire prevention actions;- Building nest-boxes for birds, insects and bats;- Cleaning a pond for wildlife;- Control invasive species;- Presentation and discussion of the natural and social reality of the regions of origin of the participants;- Promotion of environmentally and socially responsible attitudes and values;- Development of action-training actions focused on individual and collective learning.

Description of location and leisure:

The camp will take place at the Quinta EcolEgica da Moita (QEM), a 14 hectares forest that locates at the village of Oliveirinha, in a rural setting near the city of Aveiro, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FP1VUruHVgReL2Fm9 QEM used to be a very active educational forest but it has been abandoned for a few years and needs restoration and maintenance work to become visitable and a pedagogical forest again.

Description of accommodation and food:

Participants will sleep in a house that supports QEMs activities, on mattresses and with their sleeping bags. There will be 2 shared rooms (separated by gender). There are hot water showers also separated by gender.Participants have to bring their own towels and hygiene products, sleeping bag or sheetsblanket, and pillow. The organization will provide breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Lunches and dinners are prepared/cooked served at a canteen from Santa Casa da MisericErdias social complex, but some lunches will be served in the field (sandwiches, fruits, etc.)
