Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

For many years EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms around Estonia demonstrating solidarity and respect to their work and supporting local people, who keep agricultural traditions and develop eco-farming in Estonia. Organic farm Kingu is one of them. This is a berry, fruit and vegetable micro-farm in the South Estonia. The main berry crops are raspberries, various currants, gooseberries, Japanese quince, garlic and rhubarb. Everything is grown in an environmentally sustainable way using straw and hay. The farm promotes sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more and to help hard working people in country side.

    Description of work:

The main task is harvesting various berries and vegetables such as rhubarb, currants, raspberries, Japanese quince, then helping juice making and products packaging. But there is also weed control and fertilization with mulch in plantations, mowing grass, cutting branches, removal of bushes and wood chipping, assistance in the construction of various small buildings, vegetable beds and other necessary structures on the site, painting as well. And there is ongoing work of planting seeds. Working hours are 5-7 hours a day for 5 days a week. The exact work depends on season and partly on weather conditions.

PARTNER : It’s been ten years that Lunaria and Agape are working side by side to create a space where people can meet in harmony. Agape International Ecumenical Centre is an important point of reference in Italian Protestantism, being for 70 years a place of education and development, theological exploration, political engagement, acceptance and validation of differences. A resident group still lives at Agape throughout the year. Agape was built after the Second World War as a sign of hope and reconciliation between people, thanks to the voluntary work of many young men and women. The dimensions of community and voluntary service remain fundamental. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: QualityEducation-SDG4 and GenderEquality-SDG5, two of the pillars of Agape mission.
PROJECT : Every year many people, with different ages and religious, cultural and political backgrounds, come to Agape to discuss and to be challenged, to get to know themselves and each other and to exchange experiences around a particular theme. The work camp will support the management and support the meetings on issues of political, social, cultural and religious interest. The center is volunteers-driven, and its management is in your hands.

WORK : The workcamp is an international experience, giving the volunteers the opportunity to meet young people from all over the world. In terms of communication, the main watchword at the Center is diversity and open-mindedness. This is your chance to discover different cultures, and ideas and exchange experiences. The work accomplished on each camp is very important, the volunteers themselves are the main reason for Agape is able to keep organizing more and more projects every year. Thanks to a group of people living there all year long (the so-called Resident group), but also to the ecumenical and international community coming to help, the center has an effect on its visitors' life. As a volunteer, you will be asked to work with the Resident Group. Every Resident has a sector for which they are responsible (kitchen, cleaning, bar, maintenance,... and so on), in which you will help them, and each of the Residents will be there to help you and support you. You will have 6-7 working hours per day. The Centre will organize every year's national camps in the place and the international group will work in parallel with the permanent residence to guarantee the running of all other project schedules. Volunteers will help in the following tasks: kitchen, meal service (tables and dishes), cleaning, maintenance, bartending, and babysitting.

    ● 위치

LOCATION AND LEISURE : Agape is in the Alps, close to Prali commune. Games, discussions, and outings can be organized during free time. Programmed activities (especially in the evening) are most of the time open to the volunteers, as long as they do not clash with work commitments. The place is beautiful but isolated, though you will stay together with many international participants attending the meetings of Agape.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

The Awareness, Engagement & Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners, where we try to raise awareness about current environmental issues and encourage the volunteers to take action! One of our main goals for the next few years is to contribute to a nation-wide project aiming at cleaning up the Icelandic coastline.
SEEDS works along and supports the Icelandic ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the Icelandic Environmental organisation Landvernd, the Environmental Agency of Iceland, Umhverfisstofnun and other partners in order to draw attention to the issues of ocean pollution, plastic waste and to engage volunteers in cleaning up actions around the country.

    Description of work:

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal educational activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environmental protection by joining outdoor coastal cleanup tasks in the shores and beaches.
Additional work will be undertaken in the area of our accommodation such as removing old fences dangerous to wildlife and visitors, as well as helping with renovation and maintenance of the house. We may also be marking some walking paths and, depending on the advance of the mentioned tasks, volunteers might do some forestry tasks in a small forest planted in the area, like trimming the vegetation or planting some trees.
This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking during the cleanups. Volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule, as depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the planned activities.

    ● 위치

    Description of location and leisure:

The accommodation is located 1 hour drive south-east from Reykjavík. The house serves as an environmental-educational centre where visitors can have a look at an extensive stone and stuffed animal collection. The house sits under Ingólfsfjall, The Mountain of Ingólfur, with a view to Eyjafjallajökull where the volcanic eruptions started in March and April 2010.
The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found spread around the area, which is a popular attraction among foreign and local visitors.
The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafés and bars.

The nearest airport: KEF in Reykjavik,Iceland
The nearest terminal (train-, bus-, taxi station): Bus station: Central Reykjavík (BSÍ)

Project: Take part in the valorisation of a historic site at the heart of idyllic mountain landscapes! Join us and come discover l’Abbaye de Clausonne and its natural environment at 1140 meters of altitude!
It is in the 12th century that the Abbaye took shape. After multiple periods of deconstruction and reconstruction over the centuries, it became in the 20th an agricultural building, which was abandoned in the 1950s. It is in 1994 that the Abbaye of Clausonne association was created to conserve the vestiges of this exceptional architecture on an exceptional site. Since then, the association has wanted to make this place a ground of discovery, learning and knowledge.

Work: This year, we'll be continuing work on the stonework in the old sheepfold, so that in a few years' time it can be used as a cooking area, a tool shed, etc. You’ll also be working on the enhancement of the site and the old hamlet of la Péguière. All with the help of masons who will be on hand to pass on their skills! Mind you, it's a real workout for the arms and legs! The work involves 30 hours a week.

Leisure activities: Evenings and weekends are free for activities that you choose to organise together. You will be in an exceptional setting to discover the pleasures of mountain hiking, its rivers, its lakes, the farmers and producers markets, the festive nights organized in surrounding villages. In group, you will decide activities and discovery outings that you wish to set up. The reception center usually organizes one musical evening per week with homemade wood-fired pizzas.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants will join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our new project called MATRIX . Camp participants will learn about different meanings of this word. Together, we will identify the ways how to improve the matrix of the modern world, how to become a better version of ourselves and how to develop our emotional intelligence. Camp participants will acquire life skills that they will need to create their own codes for personal matrices that will have power to change their life for the better. They are the smart matrices of our personalities, souls, love and success, well-being and happy life. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

    Description of work:

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite heavy, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids and teen participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the camp right after arrival, volunteers will be given a training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.
