Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
This project is organised with a Local action group called “MAS Krušné hory” . They are focused on the cooperation with municipalities, non-profits, entrepreneurs, and local partners. It is involved in education, community projects, tourism promotion, and volunteer activities focused on environmental and regional development. The main goal of the workcamp is to introduce volunteers to the cultural heritage and natural environment of the Ore Mountains while raising awareness of local history and community work. Through practical conservation and maintenance activities, volunteers gain hands-on experience in heritage preservation and environmental stewardship. The project contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
Description of work:
Volunteers will take part in hands-on conservation and maintenance activities, including gardening and upkeep of the old cemetery, maintenance and minor repair of historic graves, assistance with archaeological research at the local church, and maintenance of paths along the Hroznětín nature trail. The work is mildly physically demanding and suitable for volunteers of different ages and fitness levels. In case of rain, activities will move indoors or under shelter and may include cleaning the community centre, tool maintenance, and support for conservation or community tasks. All tools and protective equipment are provided. The work site is situated at the Jewish cemetery in Hroznětín and is within walking distance from the accommodation, around 5-10 minutes away.

Hroznětín is a small town in the Karlovy Vary region, located about 9 km north of Karlovy Vary, with a population of around 2,200. The town offers basic amenities, including a health centre, a shop, and a pharmacy in nearby Ostrov. It is active in community life and organises various local events. Sports facilities include a football club and a multipurpose sports field with artificial surface. An ATM is available within walking distance, and mobile phone reception is available at the workcamp location.
In Hroznětín and its surroundings, volunteers can enjoy outdoor and cultural activities such as hiking, cycling, and swimming at nearby places like Děpoltovický Pond or the Rolava River, as well as fishing at Velký Pond. Cultural and historical sites in the region include the Jáchymov Royal Mint, Adit No. 1, the Jewish Cemetery, lookout towers, and other natural attractions. These activities offer a balanced mix of recreation, cultural discovery, and exploration of the Ore Mountains’ landscape.

Volunteers will stay in shared apartments for 2–3 people, each with its own kitchenette and bathroom. Beds are provided with duvets and pillows, so no bedding is needed. The apartments include a refrigerator, kitchenette, and Wi-Fi. Bedrooms do not have curtains, so eye masks may be useful. Volunteers prepare their own breakfast and dinner, while lunch is provided by the host organisation.

Volunteers will learn about the historical context of the area and how their activities relate to local heritage. The programme also introduces the town’s future development plans, including visualisations of planned improvements, helping volunteers understand the wider impact of their work.

People in Need (Člověk v tísni) is a Czech humanitarian and development organisation active in more than 40 countries. It provides assistance in situations of war and natural disasters and supports long-term recovery through community development and education. In the Czech Republic, it focuses on social work, education, and human rights. The main goal of the workcamp is to support low-threshold clubs for children and young people. Volunteers help ensure equal access to services, strengthen social inclusion, and support positive development opportunities for young people. The workcamp contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, through non-formal educational and preventive activities.
Description of work:
Volunteers will support children and young people in a low-threshold club through leisure and educational activities such as games, creative workshops, tutoring, and homework support, while helping develop social skills in a safe and inclusive environment. They will also assist with the daily operation of the club, including preparing activities and supporting staff. Part of the work involves revitalising the club’s outdoor leisure areas. No special physical skills are required. In bad weather, activities take place indoors and focus on programme delivery and preparation.
This is a day camp which means the children will be with you during the day and leave in the afternoon.
There will be two work locations, one is in the same place as the accommodation, the other is 30 minutes away by bus.

The workcamp takes place in Předlice, a socially diverse district of Ústí nad Labem combining an older village core with industrial buildings and apartment blocks. While parts of the area face social challenges, it is well connected to the city by public transport. The location is close to nature, including Střížovický vrch hill and Lake Milada, offering space for walks and outdoor activities. Mobile phone reception is available on site.
Leisure activities may include a cable car ride to Větruše with panoramic views of the city, a visit to the Ústí nad Labem Zoo, and an excursion to Střekov Castle. Volunteers can also relax and swim at nearby spots such as the Milada and Brná swimming pools, offering opportunities for recreation and informal group activities.

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with the Jewish community in Brno and the Holešov Municipal Cultural Center, which manages Jewish monuments in Holešov and organises the annual Festival of Jewish Culture. The main goal of the workcamp is to improve the condition of the Jewish cemetery through practical maintenance and care, while also supporting the organisation of the Festival of Jewish Culture. Volunteers will gain insight into Jewish history, local traditions, and contemporary cultural life, combining hands-on heritage preservation with intercultural exchange. The workcamp contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by protecting cultural heritage, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by supporting remembrance, tolerance, and respect for cultural diversity.
Description of work:
The work takes place mainly at the Jewish cemetery in Holešov and partly at the synagogue in Šachov. Volunteers will help with landscaping and regular cemetery maintenance, including grave care, cleaning paths, weeding, removing overgrown vegetation, raking grass, and general upkeep. Volunteers will also assist with technical preparations for the Festival of Jewish Culture, such as moving, setting up, and dismantling event equipment at different locations in town. The work can be moderately physically demanding and takes place in all weather conditions; in case of severe rain, tasks may move indoors. Tools and protective equipment are provided. The workplace is about a 5-minute walk from the accommodation (about 400 m).

The workcamp takes place in Holešov, a Moravian town known for its historic Jewish community and a rare 16th-century synagogue. Work activities are mainly carried out at the Jewish cemetery, an important site of pilgrimage and cultural heritage. The town also offers a Baroque castle with gardens, a parish church, a swimming pool, and a preserved historic centre. An ATM is within walking distance, mobile phone reception is available, and a pharmacy is nearby.
Volunteers can take trips to the surrounding region and visit important cultural and historical sites, including the UNESCO-listed monuments in Kroměříž, the pilgrimage site of Svatý Hostýn, the open-air folk architecture museum in Rymice, and the open-air museum and cultural area in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm.

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with the town of Odolena Voda, a municipality of around 6,600 inhabitants located about 20 km north of Prague. The town actively supports community life, regeneration of public spaces, and environmental protection, guided by the motto “A peaceful and healthy town.” The main goal of the workcamp is to support the expansion of a local nature reserve, help develop a new park, and contribute to the creation of a mural that enhances public space and reflects community values. The project contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
Description of work:
The work combines outdoor environmental tasks with creative activities in public spaces. Volunteers will help maintain and expand green areas by cutting bushes and removing branches. They will also participate in designing and creating a mural and in designing benches for public use, contributing to the visual and functional improvement of the town. The work is mildly physically demanding and includes both manual and creative tasks. In case of rain, activities will move indoors and focus on painting cellar spaces. All tools and protective equipment, including saws, rakes, and work gloves, are provided.
The transportation back and from the work site to the accommodation will be done on foot or by bike.

Leisure-time activities may include beach volleyball, football, and tennis, bouldering, archery, offering opportunities for active relaxation and team play. Volunteers can also swim in a nearby natural lake, providing a refreshing way to unwind and spend time together in a natural environment.

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with Petrklíč help, z. s., a community-based educational organisation founded in Český Těšín that focuses on youth empowerment, non-formal education, volunteering, and environmental sustainability. The main goal of the workcamp is to involve volunteers in practical nature conservation and landscape care while providing education on ecology, sustainability, and climate resilience. Through hands-on habitat restoration, landscape management, and biodiversity support, volunteers gain practical experience in environmental protection and sustainable practices. The project contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land and SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning and ecological stewardship.
Description of work:
Volunteers will take part in hands-on conservation activities such as planting and caring for trees and shrubs, restoring and maintaining natural habitats, and observing local flora and fauna. The work also includes educational and community-oriented activities, such as workshops on ecology, sustainability, and conservation for children and young people aged 12–17. In addition, volunteers will support the organisation of a children’s camp, assisting the main organisers with daily activities and logistics. Volunteers are expected to actively contribute by designing and leading one activity that introduces participants to their country, culture, or subculture. In the afternoon, some educational blocks may also be open to the adult public. The work is mildly physically demanding and involves the use of basic hand tools; safety equipment is provided. In case of rain, volunteers will focus on indoor tasks such as tool maintenance, project planning, documentation, and preparation of educational materials.

The workcamp is based in Karviná, a historic border town on the Olše River in northern Moravia, close to Poland. The area combines cultural and historical heritage with easy access to natural sites used for environmental projects such as habitat restoration and tree planting. Essential facilities are available nearby, including an ATM, pharmacy, and reliable mobile phone reception. Transport to worksites will be provided by minibus.
In their free time, volunteers can explore Karviná and its surroundings, including Fryštát Castle and park, Darkov Spa Park, and Darkov Lake. Leisure options include cycling, walking, swimming at the local pool, and outdoor activities in nearby nature areas. On days off, excursions can be made to Havířov, Český Těšín, or Ostrava, as well as hiking trips in the Beskydy Mountains, including Lysá hora, Praděd, and nature trails along the Olše River.

Description of work:
The work focuses on renovation and maintenance of cabins in a recreational area which also serves as a community centre for local residents, where community events and activities regularly take place. Volunteers will sand and repaint interior and exterior walls (excluding roofs), carry out minor wood repairs, and renovate outdoor terraces by removing old floorboards, installing new ones, and applying protective coatings. Tasks may also include basic interior repairs and woodwork. The work is mildly physically demanding and may involve working with raised arms, using ladders, handling materials, and cleaning tools. In light rain, outdoor work continues; in heavy rain, activities move indoors and focus on painting and interior maintenance. Tools, gloves, and protective equipment are provided.

The workcamp takes place at the Ontario recreation and leisure complex, located northeast of Karlovy Vary above the Ohře River valley near the former Kyselka Spa. The complex lies on the edge of a forest in a scenic landscape at the foothills of the Ore and Doupov Mountains, with views of the historic Bučina lookout tower. Facilities include outdoor sports grounds, a swimming pool, a fireplace, an on-site restaurant, and access to a public playground at a nearby school. Boat trips on the Ohře River can be arranged. Mobile phone reception is available on site.
In Kyselka and the surrounding area, volunteers can combine nature exploration with cultural and historical discovery. Leisure options include visiting the Mattoni Mineral Water Bottling Museum, walking the Mattoni Trail to the Bučina lookout tower and Mattoni Waterfall, and exploring natural sites such as Skalky skřítků and Šemnické skály, where swimming is possible on warm days. Volunteers can also visit local heritage sites, including the Radošov wooden bridge and other historical monuments, offering a balanced mix of relaxation, culture, and nature.

Study part: The study programme includes an introductory meeting with representatives of the municipality of Kyselka, presenting the town’s history, development, and role in the region, as well as its vision for future development and planned public space improvements. Volunteers will also interact with the local community through joint activities such as forest cleaning or preparing land for a future park. Informal social moments, including sports activities or an evening by the campfire, support intercultural exchange and mutual learning.
Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
The workcamp is organised in cooperation with EUROSOLAR. This organization promotes renewable energies and a sustainable lifestyle through educating young people about the environment and organizing summer camps for children, youth, and families to promote environmental awareness. The workcamp takes place in a remote but exceptionally beautiful, hilly area of the Bohemian Forest, near the western border of the Czech Republic. The campsite is isolated from civilization . Volunteers are welcome in trying out a basic and active lifestyle in the forest. The main goal is to help maintain meadows in a nature-protected area and maintain the campsite. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG15 Life on Land.
Description of work:
You will work in a natural reserve about 3 km from the campsite to which one arrives by foot. The main work will consist of mowing, raking and collecting grass on protected meadows. This work might be physically demanding. As the meadows can be very wet, make sure to bring waterproof working shoes (or rubber boots), gloves, rain gear and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Work gloves will be provided for you. Volunteers will also work directly in the campsite on maintenance tasks and in the nearby forest by doing various manual jobs. At the end of the workcamp, you will help to dismantle the campsite and to transport all the material to Prague where it will be stored during winter.
Old village Alt Pocher
Description of location and leisure:
The workcamp takes place in the Bohemian Forest near Stara Knizeci Hut. The campsite is located in the valley of the Celni stream, an isolated part of the village of Lesna in the Bohemian Forest near the German border. There is limited phone coverage. The nearest bus stop is Stara Knizeci Hut and the nearest bigger town is Tachov where you can find ATMs, pharmacies, doctors etc. The campsite is located about 30 minutes walk from the nearest bus station. Bus runs once a day to Tachov.
The main activity is hiking in the surrounding countryside. You can visit the ruins of the Zahaji castle or go on trips to nearby towns (e.g. Marianske Lazne). The project is situated on the border with Germany; a trip to Germany could be an option. Besides, you can try archery, play games or experience an Indian sauna. If you have any games, musical instruments or any other activity you could share or teach the group in the campsite conditions, you are welcome to bring them.

You will sleep on wooden pads and mattresses stuffed with hay. Nights in the forest might be very cold, even frosty, so bring a very warm sleeping bag and your own pillow, camping mat and some warm clothes. You will bathe in a small river with cold water next to the campsite, the toilets are outdoors. Everyone will cook together as a group on a fireplace. The food is only vegetarian (or vegans / gluten free variants). You can charge your cell phone with a small solar-electricity generator. There is limited phone coverage and no Wifi.

Study part: It includes evening discussions about climate, environment, sustainability and sustainable camps around the fire. You will have the unique opportunity to try archery, participate in fun games and learn to recognize the stars. Also, as you will be living in close contact with nature, you will improve your camping skills and learn a lot about local fauna and flora.
Project: The project is organised in cooperation with the Broumov Foundation, which focuses its
resources on the cultural development of the city and the whole microregion. The goal of this
workcamp is to strengthen connections between the local community and volunteers from around
the world creating a space for cultural exchange, building interpersonal relationships, and mutual
inspiration through work, events, excursions and workshops. Broumov is also a candidate for the
European Capital of Culture for the year 2028, and this project is an indivisible part of its success. At
this project, you are actively contributing to the achievement of United Nation Sustainable
Development Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Work: Volunteers will be involved in various activities throughout the week culminating in concerts
and a fashion show on June 28th. Their tasks include cleaning public spaces, assisting with a pilgrim
walk and workshop at Fewet Farm, supporting a record attempt for the most people wearing skirts in
the town square, and helping with event setup, ticket control, and visitor guidance. Throughout the
week, they will contribute to the smooth execution of events while fostering connections between
local students and international volunteers. The overall physical demand will be similar to standard
outdoor activities, such as carrying small or moderately heavy objects, walking longer distances, and
cleaning public spaces. The work is suitable for individuals with average physical fitness. Regardless
of the weather the main event will take place so a rain coat is required.
Study part: Educational activities will connect volunteers with local traditions, culture, and
environmental topics. They will visit Fewet Farm to learn about regional products, meet local
animals, and join a waste recycling workshop. A lecture on Broumov’s history and its monastery will
highlight its cultural and spiritual significance. A community event workshop will cover planning,
fundraising, and public relations. An environmental workshop, linked to the city cleanup, will focus
on waste management and nature conservation. These activities will be both educational and
interactive, fostering cultural exchange and community engagement.
Possible free time activities: In our free time volunteers can primarily do outdoor activities.
Volunteers can make a trip to the rocks nearby, which are national natural reserves. The local
monastery also hosts collective meditations each Tuesday morning. On the 25th of June, there is a
meeting with the community and an option to attend the ‘Experience Brewery Differently’ event.
June also hosts a variety of other cultural events which you can join
Location of the project: The project will take place in the medieval town of Broumov, which is
surrounded by walls from medieval times and known for its baroque features. The town has a
population of approximately 7500 residents and is located on the border with Poland in the Northern
part of the Czech Republic. Nearby, you will find ATMs, stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, an info
centre, a cinema, a theatre, and touristic paths.

details in infoheet later. Feel free to use our application IDOS for all kind of transport around Czech
Republic (buses, trains, public city transport). To have a general knowledge how to ge to the meeting
point: From Prague to Broumov (district Náchod): journey takes 4hours. There are a direct busses or
trains (one change).

Accommodation/Food: Volunteers will be accommodated in a guest house of the monastery, where
participants will sleep in one big room with the rest of their peers. There is access to shared

Accommodation in the Broumov monastery is a great experience - you can experience how
Benedictine monks used to live but you have to respect quiet hours after 10 PM. Volunteers will
cook their own meals using a fully equipped kitchen.

Project: This workcamp will take place in the small town of Hroznetin, at the foot of the picturesque
Ore Mountains in cooperation with the Local Action Group Krusne Hory (Ore Mountains). The LAG
focuses on the support and development of the region through organizing and funding educational
and cultural projects, connecting various stakeholders, preparing tourist brochures or co-organizing
volunteer activities. The main aim of the workcamp is to introduce the volunteers to the cultural
heritage (UNESCO) and natural beauty of the Krusne Hory and to present the local history and the
importance of the work concerning the significance of the place. At this workcamp, you will actively
contribute to the achievement of United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 11 Sustainable Cities
and Communities.
Work: The work will be mainly manual and outdoors in all kinds of weather. The main tasks will be:
care for newly planted trees, gardening improvements in parts of the old cemetery, maintenance
and repair of old graves and cleaning the community center on rainy days. Volunteers will be
equipped with work gloves, shovels, picks, rakes and other necessary tools or equipment.
Study part: You will learn about the history and future development vision of the town of Hroznětín,
as well as explore Czech culture and the beautiful nature surrounding the area. Volunteers will
discuss the connection to the place where they live, the importance of volunteering for public
spaces, and how to motivate locals to overcome their hesitation and engage in volunteering.
Leisure time: There is a possibility to arrange a trip to Karlovy Vary - a city famous not only for its
world-famous spa but also for the Film Festival that will take place at that time. You can visit the
town of Ostrov and its sights - the castle garden, also known as the 8th wonder of the world, the
local monument zone in the city centre, the Prince's Palace, Ostrov Castle, beautiful churches and
monasteries. Hroznětín organizes many events for local residents and works on activating the local
community.
Location: The workcamp takes place in Hroznetin, a small town in western Bohemia with about 2,000
inhabitants. There is a small grocery store, a school, a post office and a pharmacy nearby Ostrov.
There is good phone reception. The work activities will take place in the town and near the
recreational area Velký Rybník. The closest cities are Ostrov (5 km) and Karlovy Vary (12 km) where
you can find doctors, pharmacies and ATMS. The region is popular among tourists for its beautiful
countryside near the Ore Mountains.

campleader will be waiting there for you and take you to the accommodation. Please be aware that

Accommodation/Food: The accommodation is located at Penzion Mlýnský dům, Mlýnská 5,
Hroznětín. Volunteers will be accommodated in apartment rooms for 2-3 people, each with a
kitchenette and bathroom. The hygiene facilities include fully equipped bathrooms with showers,
bathtubs are also available. Volunteers don't need to bring anything as everything is provided. For
meals, volunteers will prepare their own breakfast and dinner, with a financial contribution provided
by the partner for this. Hot lunches will be provided, including vegetarian options, and volunteers
can choose from the available menu. Volunteers could buy food at the local shop or in the nearby
town of Ostrov.

Requirements: Volunteers should bring old clothes that can get dirty, a raincoat, a hooded jacket,
and a head covering for sun protection due to outdoor work. It is necessary to respect the quiet

Notes: We are looking for volunteers eager to get to know Czech culture and life in a small village.
Project: MAS Podlipansko is a non-profit organization based in the fertile Polabí region of the Czech Republic. Since 2006, it has focused on preserving the region's values, improving local life, and fostering collaboration between public, business, and non-profit sectors. The workcamp's goal is to strengthen the local community by enhancing the language skills of rural children and introducing them to European cultures. Volunteers will help children improve their English and promote European values, resulting in an active, English-speaking group that will continue to foster cultural connections in the region. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of the United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 4 Quality Education.
Work: The volunteers will begin the workcamp by familiarizing themselves with the space and preparing for the international workcamp during the first week. From July 7 to 11, 2025, they will then run a day camp for up to 20 rural children, focusing on environmental topics, as Kostelní Lhota is a very green village promoting environmental awareness. In case of rain, activities will move indoors to the community center's large hall. The work is not physically demanding but requires mental effort due to the active 5-day program for the children.
Study part: The educational activities for the volunteers will include a workshop with the local mayor about community activities in Kostelní Lhota, as well as visits to nearby villages such as Sadská, Poděbrady (spa town), and Nymburk. Bicycles will be provided for easy transportation during these excursions. These activities aim to enhance the volunteers’ understanding of local community dynamics and regional culture, while also allowing them to explore the surrounding area.
Leisure time: Football or volleyball tournaments will be organized with the local community at the football field, along with visits to the nearby spa in Poděbrady and tours of the towns of Pečky and Sadská. In the community center, volunteers will have access to table tennis, foosball, and other sports activities.
Location: The workcamp will take place at the Community Center in Kostelní Lhota, 100 metres away from the accommodation. The village is located in the Nymburk district, 10km from the spa town of Poděbrady, in the Central Bohemian region. Surrounded by larger towns like Poděbrady, Sadská, Český Brod, and Pečky, the area is in the fertile Polabí Lowlands. The village has a grocery store, football field, tennis courts, kindergarten, playground, cemetery, waste collection center, and church.
The Community Center and school are both newly renovated. ATM and pharmacy are 2.5km away , while a shop is within walking distance.
