Description of work:
The main tasks to be carried out by volunteers include:1. Cleaning Public Spaces: Collection and removal of litter from streets, squares, parks, and gardens; Washing and cleaning public monuments and walls; Removing graffiti and unwanted markings from public and historical spaces. 2. Restoration of Historical Buildings: Cleaning facades of historical buildings; Painting walls, fences, and other exterior elements of historical structures; Performing minor repairs to preserve and restore the architectural integrity of historical landmarks. 3. Improvement of Recreational Areas: Repairing and repainting urban furniture, such as benches, tables, and playground equipment; Installing or replacing small fixtures, such as trash bins and signage;
Description of location and leisure:
The camp is located in Salvaterra de Magos, a picturesque town in central Portugal. This area is predominantly rural, surrounded by lush landscapes, agricultural fields, and the scenic Tagus River. Despite its tranquil setting, the town is well-connected to larger urban centers, offering a blend of natural beauty and accessibility.
Description of accommodation and food:
Volunteers will be housed in a local community center or hostel, offering shared dormitory-style rooms. The facility is clean, safe, and equipped with essential amenities.Hygiene Facilities:Shared bathrooms with hot water showers and toilets will be available. Separate facilities will be designated for male and female participants.Meals:Participants will receive three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The menu will include a variety of Portuguese and international dishes, with vegetarian and dietary options available upon request.

Description of location and leisure:
Aldeia de S. SebastiEpoundo is a small village, with 80 inhabitants near the border between Portugal and Spain. The village has no shopping, restaurants or cafes, but in summer the Association bar is open to the public. Castelo Bom is a small and historic village with great view of CEa River located in the interior of Portugal, surrounded by other historic villages. The closest city is Guarda, which is the district capital (40km). The work camp is located in a historic and rural area, quiet and far from big cities, providing moments of leisure and rest for volunteers.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
The work camp aims to unite young people from diverse nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds to enhance biodiversity, restore degraded ecosystems, and improve landscape fire resilience. Activities will take place in an ecologically degraded and sensitive area managed by MONTIS in Carvalhais.Participants, guided by monitors and specialists, will gain skills in nature conservation and ecosystem restoration through a learn by doing approach. Tasks include individual and group activities, fauna workshops, and leisure events to foster intercultural interaction and linguistic learning.Expected nature outputs include improved vegetation growth, habitat conditions, fire resilience, soil quality, and water infiltration, as well as fauna and flora identification recorded on iNaturalist.
Description of work:
The volunteering tasks focus on ecosystem restoration and include a variety of activities: pruning young trees and managing pine and other native species to accelerate their growth; creating and maintaining access paths for volunteers and visitors; restoring riparian vegetation; building water runoff barriers with local materials to improve soil and water infiltration; and controlling invasive plants like Acacia dealbata, which degrades local ecosystems. Control methods involve pulling small trees and ring barking larger ones. Volunteers will also help with camera trapping, setting up and retrieving cameras to capture wildlife photos and videos, with results shared afterward via email. Additionally, participants will identify and record fauna and flora using the iNaturalist app.
Description of location and leisure:
The location of the Workcamp is in a remote rural area. Volunteers will camp in Bioparque de Carvalhais (https://bioparque.org). The closest village is 2 km from the camp. MONTIS will have a van available to support the needed transportation. The intervention area distances from the campsite are about 20 minutes walking
Description of accommodation and food:
Volunteers will be camping. There is a central facility with showers, and WC for women and man, with all basic hygiene facilities. There is another central facility for socializing, with board and card games, and a small bar/shop. The camping site has internet available, as well as outdoor barbecue and eating tables. There is no kitchen or laundry.MONTIS will provide regular meals, with the possibility of vegetarian by request. These include breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Lunch will be served on the field as a packed lunch.

Description of location and leisure:
The camp will take place at the Quinta EcolEgica da Moita (QEM), a 14 hectares forest that locates at the village of Oliveirinha, in a rural setting near the city of Aveiro, here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FP1VUruHVgReL2Fm9 QEM used to be a very active educational forest but it has been abandoned for a few years and needs restoration and maintenance work to become visitable and a pedagogical forest again.
Description of accommodation and food:
Participants will sleep in a house that supports QEMs activities, on mattresses and with their sleeping bags. There will be 2 shared rooms (separated by gender). There are hot water showers also separated by gender.Participants have to bring their own towels and hygiene products, sleeping bag or sheetsblanket, and pillow. The organization will provide breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Lunches and dinners are prepared/cooked served at a canteen from Santa Casa da MisericErdias social complex, but some lunches will be served in the field (sandwiches, fruits, etc.)

Avanca is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Estarreja, with an area of 21.07 kmI and 6 189 inhabitants. Avanca belongs to the municipality of Estarreja, District of Aveiro. It is limited by the municipalities of Murtosa, Ovar and Oliveira de AzemEis. It is served by Estrada Nacional 109, by A29, as well as by the North railway line.The center of the workcamp takes place at the heart of the festival, at Escola BEUsica Prof Dr Egas Moniz, where the workshops will also take place and where the secretariat and conference are located. Volunteers will be accommodated in the school s classrooms. They will have access to mattresses. The school has bathrooms and changing rooms with hot water, open 24 hours/day.Regarding food, breakfast will be prepared in the school canteen, where volunteers will have at their disposal the most varied items for its preparation. Lunches and dinners will be either in the school canteen or in local restaurants, always accompanied by the monitors

Active Granja workcamp is about social and environmental sustainability. It aims at fighting GranjaIs geographic and social isolation. We want to make the village more alive, more active and more aligned with young peopleIs interests. We also want to provide its inhabitants with a joyful, intergenerational cxistence, with new experiences, knowledge and worldview. Therefore, we are eager to activate Granja with the help and the companionship of some nice young people from abroad who want to joins us and help us with the organization and the development of traditional practices and other activities in our community, daily tasks and entertainment, with promoting our culture, with attracting young people to the village, with making our village more charming, greener and smarter.
Description of work:
help at promoting and developing cultural and traditional events for Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo da Granja association, together with the local community, doing hands-on work and logistical tasks at the association headquarters and across the village, while hanging out and having some fun with the community at entertainment times. interact with the village community through storytelling activities and by patronizing elderly people (helping them at doing some tasks, keeping company, entertaining, chatting, etc.).help at promoting our natural resources, by creating figures with our local and traditional black clay, by experiencing our thermal and healing waters in Carvalhal hot springs, while sightseeing in the local heritage and landscapes.

The camp is placed in the inner centre of Portugal, in a small rural village, called Granja, which is inhabited by approximately 130 people. ItIs 3,5 hours away from Lisbon and 1,5 hours away from Oporto by car. The closest city to Granja is Viseu, where you can go by car, taxi or bus.
Description of accommodation and food:
The lodgement of the camp is Granja Sports Hall, a very large indoor sports hall, with internet. It will be divided into a dormitory area and a large multipurpose area. The dormitory will be adapted with camp beds, and it will be separated for boys and girls with movable dividers. ThereIs an adjoining bathouse with ladies bathroom and gentlemen bathroom. We provide breakfast, lunch, snakc and dinner.

The main goals of this workcamp are the recovery of rural heritage, enhancing the biodiversity of our Center, and promoting the animal welfare of donkeys and their quality of life. We want to o enable the discovery of the Miranda Plateau, a unique rural region, rich in natural beauty, biodiversity, culture and traditions. With so aging population in these villages, one of the goals is bringing together the young participants and the local community, therefore promoting intercultural (urban/rural, international/national) and intergenerational (youngsters/ elderly) encounters and exchanges.

The accommodation is located in Palancar village, geographically included in the Natura 2000 network and Douro Internacional Natural Park, about 6 kms from Miranda do Douro city. Located in a rural area in the northeast of Portugal, very close to the border with Spain, its a village that suffers aging population problems, which makes these experiences very important for the rural development of this region.
Description of accommodation and food:
Basic housing with electricity ( with one large room equipped with bunk beds, one living room, WC, and showers with hot water. There is no bar in the village neither a supermarket, but if something is needed, we can easily support the volunteers to get it. Volunteers who want extra privacy can bring camping tents. Theres good wifi in the proximity of the accommodation, more precisely at the CAB office, which is in the village.

The accommodation is located in a former primary school, beautifully transformed into a space dedicated to artistic residencies and hosting young volunteers. The facility includes five bedrooms, with a mix of double and triple rooms, divided by gender, ensuring privacy and comfort. The Vale das Amoreiras Private Protected Area (APPVA) in Aljezur is part of the national network of protected areas.The Private Protected Area covers 10.8 hectares and is almost entirely an oak grove of deciduous species and a cork oak forest.In addition to the APPVA, we will also be working in the Vale dos Homens pine forest, where a LIFE project aims to improve the conservation status of the Juniper trees (Juniperus spp.) in Portugal s coastal dunes.

The volunteers will stay overnight in an old school that has been transformed and equipped to receive volunteers from all over the world. It is equipped with full bathrooms.Three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be provided by RWSW, with the possibility of choosing vegetarian menus.
