Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
The Hajnalcsillag Tanoda (Morning Star After-school) was established by the Kecskemét Reformed Congregation to support disadvantaged–primarily Roma–children in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. The congregation is actively involved in the life of the Tanoda, providing both financial and spiritual support. In addition to supporting children’s academic development, the Tanoda plays an important role in strengthening community bonds and fostering a sense of belonging.

    Description of work:
Join us hand in hand to create a memorable summer camp with Hajnalcsillag Tanoda in Kecskemét! Become part of an international volunteer team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children aged 6 to 18. Support the Tanoda's two core missions: strengthening Roma culture and identity, and nurturing Christian faith. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in building children's self-confidence, fostering trust, and bringing joy into their everyday lives. You will also have the opportunity to support their English language development and unleash your creativity by leading games, sports, and other engaging activities. Together, let's create a fun and inspiring environment filled with learning, laughter, and endless opportunities.

    ● 주요내용

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Since 2016, the Juszt-is teszünk! Foundation has been a driving force behind the transformation of Bódvalenke into the vibrant "Fresco Village," where Roma painters have turned the walls of local homes into beautiful open-air artworks. Working in a community where nearly half of the population is children and employment opportunities are limited, the Foundation has launched and sustained impactful initiatives to support and empower the local Roma community. With years of experience, deep local engagement, and a strong commitment to social change, the Juszt-is teszünk! Foundation is a dedicated and reliable partner in creating lasting impact.

    Description of work:
Join us to create an unforgettable summer camp for children aged 3 to 18. The main contributions we ask of volunteers are to actively share their own cultures by teaching songs and dances from their home countries, to develop children's English skills, and to lead engaging games and sports activities. Through these activities, volunteers will also help foster joy, trust, and self-confidence among the children. The children will participate in age-based groups Monday through Thursday, while Friday will be a family day with parent participation. Although the camp is relatively short, with direct activities with children lasting only six days, it is highly intensive, with volunteers actively engaged with the children throughout the day.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

Every year, the best underground bands, theatres, and the majority of the NGO scene gather in a small lakeside village in Hungary. Participate in the country’s leading socially conscious small festival as a volunteer!
Bánkitó is Hungary’s biggest independent, socially conscious, cultural and community festival with a wide range of programmes throughout its three days (9-12 July 2025) in the summer from music through theatre to contemporary art. It offers concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, civil initiatives, workshops, and round-table discussions about social justice issues, human rights, and the experiences and cultures of minorities. It takes place at Bánkitó, a small Hungarian village 60kms away from Budapest.
The music at the festival is progressive, contemporary, and constantly renewing, with the newest and most exciting bands of the Hungarian music scene. The civil/cultural programs always poke at important and actual topics, working towards understanding society’s issues with activists from NGOs, musicians, actors, and artists. Contemporary Hungarian theatre pieces will be showcased, and Hungary’s most exciting contemporary artists will transform the shores of Lake Bánk into an art exhibition.

    Description of work:

Join the Bankitó Festival team as a volunteer and be part of an unforgettable experience! We are looking for volunteers to help with the festival setup from July 7-9 and cleanup from July 12-13. Your tasks will include construction work such as drilling, assembling, and moving heavy objects – all necessary tools will be provided. In return, you’ll get free access to the festival, where you can enjoy all the programs, concerts, and the vibrant community atmosphere.

    ● 위치

    Description of location and leisure:

Bánk is a tiny village in Nógrád County, centered around the not-so-tiny Lake Bánk. It has everything a lakeside village might need: a small store, a tobacco shop, a pizzeria, a pub, a few hotels and motels, and a lakeside eatery. However, there is no ATM, local shops have a limited selection, and during the festival, the village can get quite crowded—so if you have any special needs, be sure to bring what you’ll need!

Bánkitó Festival has been a part of the town for 13 years, primarily around the Lakeshore and the Camp. Over the years, it has expanded to the Reeds and the Meadow, creating a unique atmosphere. The lake, the charming wooden cabins, and the hidden venues tucked away in small forest clearings all contribute to Bánkitó’s distinctive character. All of this takes place in the scenic surroundings of Lake Bánk, just a one-hour drive or a leisurely half-day bike ride from Budapest.

This year, the Bánkitó Festival explores how we perceive the world around us. Do you feel overwhelmed by too much information yet still struggle to make decisions? https://bankitofesztival.hu/

The nearest airport: BUD in Budapest,Hungary
Meeting Point and Time: Meeting point: Budapest “Újpest Városkapu” 4 PM, Sunday, July 6. It takes approximately one hour to reach Újpest-Városkapu from the airport using the airport bus and Metro line M3. From Újpest, the team will travel together by public bus to Bánk, first taking a bus to Rétság and then transferring to another bus to Bánk. The total journey takes about 1.5 hours. Buses run roughly every two hours, so you have the option to arrive earlier or slightly later. However, we strongly recommend taking the 7:30 PM bus at the latest, as you’ll still need to set up your tents upon arrival, and doing so at night can be much more challenging.

    ● 숙박

    Description of accommodation and food:

You will live in tents during the festival and you are asked to bring your own tent (we can provide some if needed) and sleeping bags. The wheather in the nights can be cold, so it is suggested to bring warm clothes as well. The first meal will be the breakfast on 7th morning, so please bring some food with you for the first evening. You will receive breakfast and a hot lunch around 2 pm each day. A vegetarian option is available. We provide all the equipment needed to fulfil your tasks.

    Bánkitó Festival 2020
    24-07-05 TO 24-07-15
    -
    전체 설명
    환경 축제
    ● 주요내용

Egyesek Youth Association organizes this volunteer program
together with Bánkitó, Hungary’s biggest independent, socially
conscious, cultural and community festival. Bánkitó is not just
entertainment, but also a social enterprise capable of bringing
attention to neglected topics and raising awareness in the
public’s consciousness, by providing appearances to several
NGOs. The festival lasts three summer days (July 10-13), and it
hosts 8000 visitors each year, thanks to its wide range of
programs, from music, through theatre, to contemporary art. It
offers concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, civil
initiatives, workshops, and round-table discussions about social
justice issues, human rights, and the experiences and cultures of
minorities. It takes place at Bánkitó, a small Hungarian village in
the countryside, with its not-so-tiny Lake Bánk in the middle,
    about 60kms away from Budapest.
The program of the festival is always organized around a
common theme. In 2024, the topic will be Mind-Splitting and
how we perceive the world we live in.

    Work
We are looking for volunteers to help run the festival through its
preparational works (July 5-10). The volunteers will do
construction work, drilling/heavy objects, etc. Work equipment
will be provided. After the preparational works, you’ll be free to
enjoy the festival and take part in all events.
We are also looking for volunteers that will help us to create
social media content, by taking photos at the festival. The start is
the same as the preparation team (July 5-10). If you already
have your equipment (a camera or a mobile phone with a quality
camera) it is a preferred option, if not please contact us and we
    will discuss it individually.
The earliest departure is 5th of July anytime.

    ● 위치

    Location: Bánk village, Nograd county

    How to get there?
Travel by train from Budapest Nyugati station to Vác, and by bus
from Vác to Rétság, where the host can pick you up. Trains
depart every hour. It takes around 1 hour from the airport to the
train station, plus 1,5 hours to Bánk.

    ● 숙박

    Accommodation and food; leisure time
You will live in tents during the festival. Bring your own tent. We
provide 3 meals/day (hot meals for lunch and dinner). A
vegetarian option is available. We provide all equipment needed
to fulfill the volunteers’ tasks. The music at the festival is
progressive, contemporary, and constantly renewing, with the
newest and most exciting bands of the Hungarian music scene.
The civil/cultural programs always poke at important and actual
topics, working towards understanding society’s issues with
activists from NGOs, musicians, actors, and artists.
Contemporary Hungarian theatre pieces will be showcased, and
Hungary’s most exciting contemporary artists will transform the
shores of Lake Bánk into an art exhibition.

    Summer Camp in Csörög
    24-07-07 TO 24-07-14
    -
    전체 설명
    복지 아동 교육
    ● 주요내용

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

Egyesek Youth Association organizes this volunteer program together with Csörögi Tanoda (an afterschool program in Csörög), managed by the Mahájána Foundation since 2011. They aim to ensure that the children learn according to their abilities, find a job they enjoy and become able to adapt to changing circumstances. To achieve this, they try to make learning desirable again among the Roma community of Csörög, where they are supporting 26 families. Their activities include group work and personal development for children, career orientation and community building.

    Description of work:

In this project you will have the opportunity to organize summer camps for marginalized children aged 10 to 18. As a volunteer, you'll be an integral part of the NGO's mission to empower these children by providing them with valuable experiences to make a difference in their lives. Immerse yourself in a week of fun, learning and connection, as you will teach these children about yourself, your culture, and the English language. But that’s not all – if you have a passion for sports or music, we welcome your expertise to enrich the camp experience even further!

After Sunday’s arrival (you may explore Budapest over the weekend), we kick off the week with a preparation day on Monday to review the activities and the logistics of the camp, ensuring everything is set for an amazing experience. Tuesdays will be all about building emotional connections with the children by playing together. From Wednesday to Friday, we will venture out from Csörög for two nights of adventure at summer camps across Hungary, creating lasting memories along the way. On Saturday, volunteers will come together for a day of reflection and closure, celebrating the impact made in the children’s lives. On Sunday, everyone will begin their journey back home. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to teach English, lead engaging games and sports, and share the beauty of music with the children. But your role will go beyond teaching skills; you'll be fostering a sense of joy, trust, empathy, and respect, addressing a wide range of psychosocial needs and building essential life skills. Join us in creating a brighter future for these children, one filled with laughter, learning, and limitless possibilities!

    ● 위치

    Description of location and leisure:

Csörög is a tiny village close to Budapest, but we will send only 3-4 days the rest will be together with the children in Esztergom or Balaton in the summer camp. Although Budapest is very close, it is a vibrant and fascinating metropolis where there's always something going on, so your leisure time in Hungary is going to be well spent.

The nearest airport: BUD in Budapest,Hungary
The nearest terminal (train-, bus-, taxi station): Nyugati train station
Meeting Point and Time: You need to travel by train from Budapest to Csörög. Trains depart almost every hour from Budapest Nyugati station. We ask you to catch the train at 6.00 pm at Nyugati Station together so the team can arrive around 7.30 pm to the after-school location. It takes around 1 hour from the airport to the train station by bus and metro, plus 1,5 hours to Csörög.

    ● 숙박

    Description of accommodation and food:

While in Csörög, you will live in the afterschool building, in a big shared room with mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bags with you.
