The work done is the continuation of the precautionary archaeological excavation at the Islamic medina of Almatà coordinated by an archaeologist. On the first day of work, the participants will receive a specific training focused on how to use the different professional tools. The work is focused on cleaning the surface area of intervention and digging of the indicated sectors. The participants will also take care of the digitation of the archeological information collected during the excavation.
Volunteers will have a wide range of afternoon activities, evening and night games, which aim to improve group relationships and venture into the area of human values. They will have the opportunity to visit Vilanova de la Sal and they will do an excursion to the fantastic landscapes of Congost Montrebei.
LOCATION: Balaguer, La Noguera.
NEAREST AIRPORT: Barcelona airport
The accommodation will be in a polyvalent hall of the school of the town in Balaguer. The volunteers have to bring sleeping bag and camping matt. There will be a picnic kitchen installed in order the volunteers can cook. There will be toilets and shower in the hall.

The workcamp takes place in Pla d’Almatà, the rests of an Islamic medina in Balaguer, in the province of Lleida. This is an archaeological project which aims to recover the ancient Islamic medina and study how other cultures ancient settlements are rehabilitated.
