Since 1990, NiG has been bringing together socially engaged youth and dedicated volunteers to organize and run international work camps in Germany, as well as multilateral youth exchanges both at home and abroad. As part of a global network, we also connect young people with meaningful projects through our partner organizations worldwide.

Over the years, thousands of participants from 42 countries have collaborated on impactful initiatives. With more than 800 work camps completed, we continue to create opportunities for cultural exchange, learning, and social engagement.
In our multi-week camps, volunteers contribute to essential and much-needed projects in various fields, including:

> Working with children and youth
> Arts and culture
> Preservation of historical landmarks

The volunteers will create a unique theater project, where they can take on different roles and unleash their creativity. Whether it’s a short scene, a study, or even a full play – anything is possible here! This workcamp is not just a creative challenge but also an inspiring journey towards selfexpression.

Rostock

Description of location and leisure:
LOCATION:
In the largest city of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, you can express yourself artistically and work together with others to create an exciting theater project. In addition to rehearsals, there’s plenty of time to explore Rostock: Discover the historic old town, stroll through the lively Kröpeliner Street, or relax on the beautiful sandy beach of Warnemünde. Whether culture, the sea, or city life – Rostock provides the dial setting for your theater work camp.

LEISURE:
Volunteers can take trips to Berlin, Hamburg or Warnemünde, go swimming and enjoy the beach.

ACCOMODATION:
Volunteers will stay at our partners accommodation in shared rooms.

FOOD:
Food (also vegetarian/vegan) is included, but meals have to prepared by the volunteers.

ACCOMMODATION:
The volunteers will stay at our partner’s accommodation, located near the theater and office. They will sleep in shared rooms. The accommodation is simple but cozy, providing a perfect place for group exchange and experiences during the workcamp.

FOOD:
Meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves, allowing them to bring their own recipes and create a colorful mix of traditional specialties and new creations.

Short remarks for the project:
A few German language skills are beneficial. If you play a musical instrument, feel free to bring it.

This work camp is for nature lovers, since the work will be mainly outdoors. There is a lot of work around the natural reserve. Since it’s not possible to use common agricultural techniques, volunteers have to do everything manually. More over every meadow around has to be cut and the grass have to be put aside. The aim of this project is to help to protect this unique reserve through your contribution. This project will be done in cooperation with environmental agency of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Teterow is a small town in the heart of the charming area known as "Mecklenburgish Switzerland". On all sides the countryside rises and merges into forested ranges of hills. Besides the historical town centre with its marketplace, town hall and church, two medieval town gates and numerous historical buildings, visitors and tourists will find many interesting sights and destinations for excursions in Teterow and surroundings.

NEAREST TRAIN STATION: Teterow

The volunteers will stay in an old house in Sauerwerder.

Short trips to nearby facilities, sport games, barbeque, parties or anything that crosses your mind can be planned.

Work :The volunteers will work in a nature reserve on a peninsula close to the town Teterow, called Sauerwerder and situated in the lake Teterow. It is necessary to bring working clothes! The main work will it be to blaze and modernize the pedestrian walkways around Teterow and to place notice boards.
