Project and work:
In the heart of the town of Saint-Pal-de-Mons, the Maison Sarrand is coming back to life around a project to create a space dedicated to culture and arts. The municipality, concerned to make an open site to as many people as possible, once again wishes to rely on the participation of volunteers to work on the interior and exterior of this beautiful 19th century bourgeois residence.
Inside, you will carry out various works to make the spaces more welcoming: painting, cleaning, small landscaping work... Outside, the house has a vast park. The aim is to offer a space for walks and relaxation in the village and to use it for events throughout the year. You will carry out work of clearing, cleaning and enhancement of the buildings by working on the renovation of stone walls.
This job does not require any specific skills. It will allow you to carry out various works on different supports both inside and outside. You will have the opportunity to discover many techniques for renovating an old house and you will join an original project carried by a dynamic municipality.
Partner:
This project is carried out in partnership with the municipality of Saint-Pal-de-Mons, which has already hosted 6 projects carried out by Concordia since the beginning of the 2010s. In 2018, the municipality bought Maison Sarrand and is working with local associations to bring it back to life. Located in the centre of the village, the house is connected to municipal services and local shops. It offers the project a great deal of interaction with the local population, which is concerned about preserving its heritage and welcoming volunteers from all over the world.
Saint-Pal-de-Mons (2,000 inhabitants) is located in the department of Haute-Loire in the Auvergne Rhone-Alpes region, 60 km north of Puy-en-Velay and 30 km from Saint-Etienne. It is a very beautiful region of small mountains (800 meters above sea level) which offers a natural landscape made of beautiful valleys. You will have the opportunity to practice outdoor leisure activities (hiking, picnic and swimming at the river and the lake of Lavalette, bicycle-rail or tree climbing), to play football matches and share a barbecue with the local team, to visit the towns of Puy-en-Velay and Saint-Etienne. Various shows will also punctuate your stay.

The collective life will be organized in a building lent by the commune (equipped kitchen, dishwasher, large dining room). Meals can also be taken outside. The site also has toilets and showers.
You will take part in the preparation of the meals, in turn, from the products that will be bought nearby. The budget will be entrusted to the animation team of the site. We will favour local products as well as short circuits. Tastings of local products are also possible with local producers.
