Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing.
Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.
SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavík. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.
Description of work:
During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you!
While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers!
You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.
You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
Description of location and leisure:
Reykjavík is a dynamic, modern city that lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world’s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavík is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.
Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions.
It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
After a successful first 2 days English camp at the small rural School of Ban Khuan Mit in July 2025, we decided to renew the experience with bringing international volunteers for a full workcamp of 11 days. The English teacher Sakina, initiator of the project, is a former DaLaa international volunteer. She managed to involve Mr. Touchide Jutiprapak, the school director, the other teachers, and even a part of the local community of this remote area of South Thailand to welcome the volunteers and bring a wonderful experience to the students. The main focus is to provide an open window to the world through English language activities; the immersion in the community will be very present.
Description of work:
The main role of the volunteers is to conduct non-formal English classes and organize fun activities for students aged 7 to 15. Volunteers will work in groups of at least 2–3 per class, with around three classes each day. In addition, extra activities will be arranged for the students during their free time and/or in the evening.
Volunteers will also take part in community activities, such as sports competitions and potluck gatherings, which help strengthen relationships between the school, students, and local residents.
Description of location and leisure:
Ban Khuan Mit School is located in South Thailand, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, about 20 kilometers from the district town of Cha-uat. The school lies on a high plain with a hot and humid climate. The surrounding community is religiously diverse, with both Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims living together peacefully. It is also situated close to a mountainous area with a big dam and a beautiful waterfall, at the border area of three provinces: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Trang, near a local well-known rafting attraction. You are given 2 free day(s) during the 2 weeks, and plenty of free time in the evening that can be spent on daily meetings, or building group dynamic by playing various games, discussion. Personal expenditure on camp holiday is covered by volunteers themselves.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Wat Phikun Thong School is a small Buddhist school in Khuan Khanun district, Phatthalung province, Southern Thailand. In the last 2 years, we already organized 3 workcamps there and the enthusiasm of the school director and the students pushes us to go on. International volunteers give the students interest to study and practice English in non-formal classes and situations. Volunteers will have chance to discover the traditional culture of this remote area.
Volunteers will also take part in community activities, such as sports competitions and temple ceremonies, which help strengthen relationships between the school, students, and local residents.
Description of location and leisure:

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Nakhon Ratchasima, learning and sharing theintercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchangeculture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai peopleto understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind andknowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eightyears. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the localcommunity. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging withinternational volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dareto face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover, volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trustywith the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of lifewith the different cultures.Ban Krogluek School is a primary school, there are about 10 teachers and 100 students fromkindergarten (2-6 years old), pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old).
