Xing Long Community is located on Taiping Dist., Taichung City. There are 3957 people in this town. The west district is more modern than the east district and most of people live in the west side. There are many natural resources and wild animals in the east side. Since 2010, Xing Long Community Development Association cooperates with Wild Bird Rescue Institute of Taichung and reuses wood boxes to make nests for owls. There are more than 30 nests hanging around the old camphor tree in the community. Xin Long is famous for its Old Grange Antique Museum. The old grange is founded in 1985. The owner is ZHANG, YOU-JI. He collected lots of tools which were used to reclaim ground, such as the tools for agriculture, old vehicles, old huts and rare antiques. There are over thousands of collections. By enjoying these collections, you can realize the history of Taiwanese farmers.

Background
Xin Long Community wants to popularize the concept of wildlife conservation and rich of tropical fruit, lychee and Pi-Pa, etc. We hope the residents can broaden their ecological perspective through international volunteers. We also hope that the international volunteers who are interested in ecology can help us. We look forward to your participation.

Project Aims
1. Engagement between local farmers and international youths.
2. Experience fruit harvest in local village.
3. To realize the development of typical rural life in Taiwan.
