CONC01 MARSHFARM 06.05 -20.05 ENVI 9VOLS
This is the third year that The Peak National Park Rangers invite Concordia volunteers to help with conservation in
the biggest National Park in the UK. This year the project will take place over two different sites giving volunteers the
opportunity to live and work in two very different areas of the Park.
Work: Volunteers will work alongside local rangers and volunteers helping with seasonal conservation tasks in the
National Park. Tasks may include footpath construction fencing repair and drystone walling.
Accommodation: In a converted barn at Marshfarm for the first week and at Brunts Barn in the 2nd week. Dormitory
accommodation. All basic facilities at both barns.
Location: Marshfarm Country Park is situated on the southern edge of the beautiful Peak National Park and hosts a
nature reserve containing many rare breeds of birds. The nearest town is Leek which is approx. 4 km away. Brunts
Barn is situated in Grindleford in the east of the Park not far from the city of Sheffield. The Peak Park includes
areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Terminal: London or Manchester Airports. Leek Bus Station.
